In this Mentoring Minute, we share ideas that our Mentor Teachers have developed to support our Teacher Candidates in the Practicum program.
Teacher Candidates will participate in their practicum one day per week throughout the academic year. This One-Day-a-Week model allows Teacher Candidates to develop ongoing professional relationships with students and teachers and the greater community that come together in the host school to support student success.
Teacher Candidates have the opportunity to actively participate in the learning of the host classroom and the life of the school over the academic year to develop strong understandings of professionalism, diverse student learning needs, and pedagogy.
